IQNA – A Lebanese seminary scholar said that Iran’s Operation True Promise against the Israeli regime was one based on the teachings of the Holy Quran.

Lebanese seminary scholar Sheikh Mustafa Yazbak

Sheikh Mustafa Yazbak said in article for IQNA that it is a religious obligation to confront the aggressive unbelievers.

God says in Verse 12 of Surah At-Tawbah: “Fight against the leaders of the unbelievers if they violate their established peace treaty with you and revile your faith, to force them to stop their aggression against you. You do not have to bind yourselves to such a treaty.”

He added God wants Muslims not to rely on injustice and oppression, citing Verse 104 of Surah An-Nisa: “Do not neglect the pursuit of the enemy. If you have suffered, they too have suffered but you can, at least, expect from God what they can never expect. God is All-knowing and All-wise.”

These verses reveal the meaning of the Operation True Promise carried out by Iran against the Zionist regime as Iran is more determined and unwavering today in confrontation with the enemy at any level, he stated.

Sheikh Yazbak added that today, Iran has proven that the era of hit and run is over and it is capable of dealing heavy blows to the enemy, paying attention to the Quranic verse: “The unbelievers would love to find you neglecting your arms and property and would attack you suddenly.” (Verse 102 of Surah An-Nisa)

Elsewhere in his remarks, the cleric referred to Verse 5 of Surah Al-Isra “So when the promise for the first of the two came, We sent over you Our servants, of mighty prowess, so they went to and fro among the houses, and it was a promise to be accomplished,” and said that the Islamic Republic of Iran has proven to be the only country concerned about Muslims and one that seeking to eliminate the fake Zionist regime.

On April 1, the Israeli regime committed a terrorist attack against Iran’s diplomatic premises in the Syrian capital Damascus.

The Israeli attack resulted in the martyrdom of Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), his deputy, General Mohammad Hadi Haji Rahimi, and five of their accompanying officers.

Retaliating against the attack, the IRGC targeted the occupied territories late on Saturday with a barrage of drones and missiles. The retaliatory attack, dubbed Operation True Promise, has inflicted damage on Israeli military bases across the occupied territories.

Following the reprisal, Iran both relayed the message that it viewed the matter as “concluded,” and also warned of a “bigger” response in case the regime or its allies target Iran.
